Lax Plus Tips to Recruiting

  • Maintain good grades
  • Keep communication with college coaches
  • Be realistic as to what level you can play at (ask your HS and Club coaches)
  • Choose a camp that has a lot of college coaches attending
  • Don’t limit to one division (understand the difference between divisions)

 

COMPARING DIVISIONS

DIVISION I

  • 5 official visits
  • Athletic scholarships available
  • Coach can call you once per week
  • Coaches can call starting July 1st going into your senior year.
  • Can only contact you through email before July 1st going into senior year.
  • Cannot speak to you until after your last competition of a tournament.

DIVISION II

  • 5 official visits
  • Athletic scholarships available
  • Can call you once per week
  • Coaches can call you July 1st going into your senior year.
  • Can only contact you through email before July 1st.
  • Cannot speak to you until after your last competition of a tournament.
  • Can have you tryout during official visit

DIVISION III

  • No limit to the number of schools that you can take official visits
  • Only able to take one official visit per school
  • Unlimited number of phone calls from coaches
  • Merit money available

Unofficial Visits

The college does not pay for you on campus
Can take unofficial visits any year of school
